First Day of School

Whoa....like really!  I can't believe that it was here!  It hit me like a ton of bricks!  This first day of school, was well....an emotional one for me I guess. I don't know if it was because my mom wasn't here...... She was always so involved in back to school, whether it was getting the boys back to school clothes, or backpacks, or buying me something for my classroom!  Maybe it is because her birthday was August 25, or shoot maybe it is because my darn babies are growing up WAY TOO FAST!  Anyway, the first day of school for my kindergartener, my 6th grader and for my 14th year to teach came and went today and we all survived!  So here are some pictures for proof!!

We Finally Did It!!!!

After two STRESSFUL weeks of decluttering and getting some stuff painted and pressure washed etc.......we finally got things ready and this went in my yard today!!!!

Now, I just have to bury St. Joseph in my backyard and let the selling begin!

Hanging with Paw-Paw

So the boys went over to hang with my dad for a little bit yesterday.... I actually told him they really " needed" to be with him for awhile!! They had a good time with him....playing in the backyard, with duct tape and hanging in the garage!! Thanks dad!!

A Day at the Little Beach

So...my cousin lives out in Seabrook and at the end of her neighborhood is this great little....well it's not really a beach, but more like a little bay if you will.  We went with my other cousin Mindy and her 3!  There were no waves, the kids could touch the bottom....it was perfect!  Here are some pictures from the day!

The Tooth Fairy

Well I can't believe it..... Garrison lost his very first tooth tonight!! He had been wiggling it and it was just hanging, so I finally convinced him to let me pull it!!! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!

Friday Fun!

We had a really good Friday!  I took the boys out to the Town Center and we ate at BJ's and then we ran to Academy and then Petsmart.  We had to replace Garrett's Bearded Dragon Spike who died the other day....really......so we got Godzilla!  Then we headed to my friend Jennifer's house for a Crawfish Boil....we had a great time talking and the kids had a great time playing...in fact they are still sleeping! 

This one is obviously not from yesterday....but just because I found it on my camera and I miss my momma!



 

Fridays

Fridays....Talking to my friend Toni today....I (we) have kinda decided today that I (we)  don't like Fridays anymore!  It has been 2 weeks ago today since my mom passed away.  Wow....really kind of hard to type those words out, to actually see them.  It is really kind of hard to actually be going on about our life without her!  It was a little bit easier to go back to work with a room full of 21 kids to keep my mind busy...but I miss her everyday!  I miss calling her every morning on my way to work to talk about....well everything....to call and talk to her about dumb stuff......to tell her about Mrs. Rodriguez's phone call the other night telling me how sweet and wonderful Garrett is.....and it is hard.  I am trying really hard to talk about how funny she was...Lord was she funny....she would really be mad at me if I was sad all of the time, but still it is hard......

Fridays.....today my friend lost her second child Addison .......they just lost their little boy Cade not even a year ago and they lost her today.  My heart is so heavy for their family.  Please pray for the Carpenter family tonight and many days and nights to come.  You can look at her blog via my blog The Carpenter's to read their story.  They will need your prayers  

Can Winter Please Be Over......

I know....you are probably thinking why in the world am I looking at 2 feet....in some cute sandals.  Well, I am over WINTER!  I am so tired of this dreary weather, I mean where is the sun already!  When I come home from school all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch t.v.!  I think it is because it is so dreary and cool outside....so this is just me venting and saying that I am ready for these big oh things to be in some cute sandals and I am ready for the sun to be shinning!!!!!  So, I think I may just wear me some sandals tomorrow....just because!

My Boys!

Ya know somedays they drive you crazy....and somedays they do all kinds of wonderful!  So, I don't know if it was last week or the week before but my sweet Garrett...who by the way is getting way too big way too fast! I think I am going to have to blog about how I am about to lose it because this whole 6th grade parent night next week, and then thinking about Kindergarten next year for Garrison is just about to do me in.....anyway, my boy got first place in Consumer Science in the Science Fair for Popcorn Madness!  Almost couldn't believe it...but oh so proud of him!  On the same day at the Student Success Showcase we have at our school, he got the grade level award for caring....such a good boy!  I just love him!!!  He is such a precious boy with a heart of gold, and a personality you wouldn't believe! 

Now for the other one!  We took him on Saturday to compete in a mini rodeo!  I know.....kind of crazy, but he loved it!  When we finished he said "I want to do lots more rodeos!"  He almost finished top ten, but they kind of went slower with him on the horseback riding since it was his first time....ya think????  I thought he did really well!  Here he is....

That guy is whose horse we rode....he works for Tom and is so nice.  He and his son travel around and do all kinds of rodeos!

Santa!

So , as I was walking through the mall on Tuesday I looked up and saw about a billion people standing in line to see Santa!  I know I am probably a bad mother that I did not take my children to see him....I don't really want to write the words here but this is probably the last year for one....if you know what I mean :( and I should have done it, but after watching those poor people stand in that line with their children being ever so patient...yeah right, I am glad I didn't.!  But thankfully at school we have a day for just the faculty kids where Santa comes and brings your child a present.....wink wink....and they sit on his lap and it was just perfect for us!  So check them out below! 

I didn't get out a Christmas card this year....I can't hardly believe it.  But take a look back and I may try to get a card on here!

Ok...so Garrett went on a sleepover last night and well Garrison really HATES it when he is not here, so I no that this was not the best movie for my almost 5 year old to watch, but well we did!  Really on a side note it was seriously good, I have not seen any of othe other ones and Tom finally gave up and went to sleep because it was really long.....but not me and little man....it was good.  Well anyway, Garrison kept coming kind of in and out of the living room, and I knew he kept bringing cars and such in but I was not paying too much attention to him, but when he went to bed this is what I found.......
