Update on Tom

Ok....so I have been a slacker and haven't updated on Tom....well he is alive!  He actually got out of the hospital on New Year's day!  The Dr. of course gave what he had a name.....and I have no idea how to spell it so I am not going to attempt:)  But basically every test that they gave him came back ok!  He does have to go back in about a month and get another test done and check in with the Dr.    So they said that what he has is where is heart rate will go really low....due to stress, or it could really be any number of triggers.  The good news is, he can feel it coming on and he knows what it is and what is happening.  He is supposed to lay down and put his feet up to get his hear rate to go up!   The Dr. said that this could be a one time episode, or this could be something that could start happening more often...if this is the case we will have to cross that bridge if or when we get there.   So there it is in a very professional nutshell!  Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!

Unexpected New Year's Eve

Well....our New Year's Eve did not go quite like we had planned! Tom called me yesterday during the day from work saying that he wasn't feeling right. He was sweating and just felt "funny". Well it passed and he was going to take his staff out to lunch and while they were all sitting there it started again. He was sweating and this time his head kind of went down and one of the guys there thought oh ok he's praying....well he soon realized he was not praying and something was wrong! Fortunately the restaurant was across the street from a fire station so they walked over and the paramedics checked him out and decided he needed to go to the ER. So he got there and I dropped off the boys and rushed to St. Lukes. Well we were there for a while and really nothing....and then a few of the guys were about to leave Tom's heart rate dropped to 30 (it's usually in the 60's) and people started flying in the room. It was the scariest thing....he couldn't talk, he had no clue what was happening! Once they got his heart rate back up he couldn't remember what happened and everything seemed blurry! He kept asking me the same questions that I had just answered! But he has not had an episode since then! We spent New Year's eve right here in the hospital and instead of hanging with the Sandovals and eating yummy food....we ate McDonalds and have been doing the hardest thing ever...WAITING! Sorry for the long post...I'll keep you posted when we know what's wrong! Happy New Year!

Assistant Chief Munoz

Ok....so it has been so crazy around here that I haven't had a chance to post about my hubby's new position!  Tom has been a Captain in the Houston Fire Department for a while now, and so with a new Fire Chief being just hired recently he came in and decided he needed new staff.  So Tom put in for an Assistant Chief's position!  Over 100 people applied 40 interviewed and he chose 6 new Assistant Chief's and Tom was one of them!  I am so very proud of him!  It is really a huge step in his career and he so deserves it!  He is going to do a great job!

Happy Birthday Garrison!

I can't believe that my little man is already 4 years old!  It seems like he was just born!  I mean he already talks like he is ten years old and wants everything that Garrett does, but I guess it really hit me the other day when he went to the bathroom.....no, no.....usually everytime he goes into the bathroom and the light is off, he yells "mom, can you turn on the light for me?"  Well, I saw him go in there....and I was waiting for him to say it....and then there it was.....the light came on, he could reach the light switch on his on!  Seriously, I thought tears were going to come right out of my eyes!  Now don't get me wrong, I have been waiting for this one to get older...I think because he is so naughty!!!  But, I have let him hold on to things just a little bit longer because his is my last one and it is hard:(  Like the bottle and the pacificer!  Now I knew that he was not going to go off to Kindergarten with those things in his mouth.....and he does not have them now...but we do still have blue bear and that is ok with me!!  Despite my conversation with God last night, Garrison did not wake up the perfect angel child this morning....and that is ok!

Garrison....you make us laugh and make us mad and wear us out most every day!  But our lives just would not be the same without you in it!  Although if you ask Garrett he may have a totally different opinion!  My prayer is that you will grow up to be healthy, happy and to become a great man!  We love you little man!

It's December What???

I can't believe it is already December!  Time is flying by so fast!  So many things have happened in the last couple of weeks that I haven't even had time to sit down to blog about them!  But I figured that since it was December 1st, I would share some of my Christmas stuff that I did manage to get put up!  I usually put up much, much more.  This year, I don't know if I am just too tired or what, but, well what you see is what you get:)  I hope you enjoy!  I hope that you are enjoying getting in the Christmas spirit as well!  I haven't even thought of the shopping yet....oh my!  I will post on Monday about our other big happening....having to do with Tom's job!  Enjoy the pictures!

I just love this wreath!  I think I love it so much because my granny made it!  She can't really see anymore, so she started giving her Christmas stuff away.....I know, I know, but that is what makes it so special.  If you look at the swags on the mantel with the stockings....they match!  I just love it!
